The proverb looks familiar. Where in Tempe is that?

I'd always heard that this quote (or a slightly different version) originated with Charles Maurice de Talleyrand. I'd guess that the whole "Turkish Proverb" thing just means "I forgot where I first read this quote."

this is a Turkish proverb. If you ever have Turkish coffee, you will know it's true because it is blacker than the coffee you know, very strong, and usually you drink it with lots of sugar, so it's also sweet.
